Test Sets For Transformer Industries

Contemporary Test Sets For Transformer Industries are developed to recognize the potentially disastrous current transformer errors. 100KV Motorised Oil Test Set

General Arrangement:

The Set will be consisting of the following:

HT Transformer, Control circuit, Test Cell with electrode, gauge and supply input cable of at least 2 meters length with 3 pin plug. The Set will be in single unit. Instruction manual and Test report will be supplied along with the Set.

HV Transformer:

High Voltage Transformer used in the Test Set will be of cast resin type. The HV winding of the transformer is of graded insulation with center point of HV winding grounded. This testing transformer is specially designed to withstand frequent intermittent sparkover or momentary short circuit conditions under which such testing transformer is supposed to operate.

The Control Circuit well be Consisting of the Following:

Power Mains ON ï OFF operation is done by means of an ON ï OFF switch along with 'MAINS ONï lamp indication & Fuse.

HTï ON ï OFF push buttons along with 'HT ONï lamp indication.

Lamp to indicate 'Regulator not at zeroï.

Continuously variable autotransformer of suitable capacity to increase/decrease the output test voltage up to the required voltage level.

INCREASE/DECREASE circuit to control motor operated Voltage Regulator. When high voltage circuit is switched ON the regulator will rotate to increase the output voltage when 'INCREASEï push is pressed ON or decrease the output voltage when 'DECREASEï push is pressed.

Memory device enables the test set meter to show the breakdown voltage by pressing the 'MEMORYï push even after the high voltage circuit is tripped OFF.

Protection and Interlocks:

Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulating transformer is at zero position or brought back to zero position.

Door interlocking (HV chamber interlocking) will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the transparent cover of the oil cell placement chamber is closed.

Beside main switch and fuse in the input side, one CT and contactor provides a snap acting automatic tripping of HV circuit in case of overload or breakdown of oil sample under test. Quick acting D.C relay to isolate the H.T will be provided.

In case the output voltage crosses the maximum rated value a lamp & a buzzer will indicate over voltage and the increase mode circuit will not function further, even if 'PRESS TO INCREASEï push is pressed.

Mode of operation of output voltage variation:

Motor driven arrangement of voltage regulator with approx. rate of rise of output voltage 2KV/sec.

Test Set Housing:

All the components and HV Transformer along with Test Vessel will be housed within MS cabinet provided with wheels and handles for easy movement. A transparent cutout with suitable interlocking device will be provided for covering the HT end. The Set cannot be energised unless this HT end is covered. The oil cell is to be placed between the HV terminals.

Test Vessel (Test cup):

The Test Vessel (Oil Cell) is fitted with two brass spheres of diameter between 12.5 to 13mm, placed at a distance of 4mm or 2.5mm. The test vessel is made from non-absorbent insulating material. Gap of the spheres can be adjusted by adjusting one sphere while the other being fixed. Dimensions are generally as per IS 6792:1992. A gauge will be provided along with the cell to adjust the gap.
